A wonderful time of year

Last Sunday, visiting the Chicago Botanic Garden’s annual orchid show on a pleasantly mild day, you could feel spring descending upon us. Yes, the local weather forecast calls for late-season snow this weekend. But any snow will be offset by the glorious act of turning clocks forward, which instantly adds one hour of daylight to the proceedings.

Along with the orchid show more daylight, Girl Scout cookies, St. Patrick’s Day and March Madness contribute to the annual rebirth known as the warmer days of spring.

Hallelujah!
