Monday, November 2, is the 9th anniversary of The Weekly Opine. Rather than write a standard column and deliver it on Monday, I decided to stick with the traditional Thursday publishing schedule. To celebrate nine years, today’s 410th opine features more thought-provoking content found on the social media site Bluesky. After all, an anniversary is a social occasion! All content credit goes to Bluesky users. And all thanks go to readers of The Weekly Opine for your loyalty!
Is today’s content sobering? Yes it is. We live in sobering times that call for honest reflection of where things stand, on the eve of arguably the most important election in U.S. history. And there is not a single Republican who deserves your vote, whether they are a national, statewide, or local candidate. Doesn’t matter if it’s for a government, school board or dog catcher position.
I have not heard any Republicans running for office -- including self-proclaimed Christians -- condemn Trump’s corruption, treasonous behavior or pathological lying. Republicans are silent as Trump, almost certainly a pedophile, is credibly accused of raping teen girls.
Vote blue and let’s begin the process of getting this thing back on track.
